On September 13, 2018 Council members Jack Eaton, Ann Bannister, and Sumi Kailasapathy committed to proposing that Council adopt the Task Force's ordinance establishing the Independent Community Police Oversight Commission at this October 1 meeting. There will also be a proposal to pass Mayor Taylor's version of an ordinance. 6 votes are required for either to pass.
In advance of this meeting, please e-mail your City Council representative (info to be posted soon) and tell them to vote for the Task Force ordinance as written by the Task Force.

The Police Task Force was created by Ann Arbor City Council after years of community organizing for accountability following the killing of Aura Rain Rosser by AAPD in 2014.
City Hall is located on Huron St., there is an elevator just inside the front doors. There is free parking at the courthouse one block away (on Fourth) and street parking is free after 6PM. There is NOT a gender neutral bathroom inside.
